New Jersey college student missing in Charleston, South Carolina since Halloween.

A College of Charleston student from New Jersey has been reported missing since Halloween, a situation that has garnered significant attention from local authorities and the community. Owen Tillman Kenney, 19, hailing from Red Bank, was last seen by friends around 2 a.m. on October 31 near the intersection of King Street and Burns Lane, as noted by the Charleston Police Department.

In subsequent updates, police confirmed that Kenney was captured on surveillance footage walking alone onto the Ravenel Bridge pedestrian walkway shortly after 3 a.m. on the same night. The last recorded location of his cellphone coincided with the sighting on the bridge, raising concerns about his well-being as the hours passed without further communication from him.

Family members have expressed their frustration and worry through social media platforms, sharing that Kenney was just minutes away from home at the time but never made it back. His family described him as a white male, approximately 6-foot-1 and weighing around 155 pounds. Kenney has light brown hair, blue eyes, and several tattoos on his right forearm, left shoulder, left shin, and knee, which they believe could help in identifying him. Initially reported to be wearing a green-and-white Boston Celtics uniform, later video footage showed him clad in a black hooded jacket, light-colored pants, and black Nike sneakers with white soles.

The search efforts for Kenney have involved K9 units, drones, and underwater recovery teams, although no leads have yet yielded any sign of his whereabouts. The College of Charleston’s Department of Public Safety is closely collaborating with local police in this ongoing search and investigation. Officials have reassured the campus community that, at this time, there is no indication of any danger related to this case.

Furthermore, the FBI and the New Jersey State Police have joined in the investigation to help locate Kenney. His alma mater, Red Bank Catholic High School, where he completed his graduation in 2024, has also reached out to the public for support, urging prayers for Kenney’s safe return. As the search continues, the hope remains that he will be found unharmed.
