The recording reveals him stumbling and collapsing onto the sidewalk shortly after being struck. Following this incident, Criollo’s family expressed their grief and devastation through a GoFundMe campaign, highlighting his journey from Ecuador to the United States at the age of 16 in hopes of building a better life.

In connection with the attack, authorities have charged Oscar Feijoo, the alleged assailant, with numerous offenses. These charges include first-degree murder, first-degree aggravated arson, as well as various second- and fourth-degree weapons offenses. The situation escalated when Feijoo barricaded himself inside his residence after police attempted to engage him. This resulted in a heightened response from the Hudson County Regional SWAT team.

As the standoff continued, several fires were reported within Feijoo’s home early Sunday morning. Despite this, he did not surrender until later that afternoon.
