New Jersey teacher admits to sexual conduct with two students.

A New Jersey educator has entered a guilty plea to two counts of sexual assault involving her students, according to an announcement made by prosecutors on Tuesday. Julie Rizzitello, a 37-year-old former teacher at Wall Township High School, agreed to a plea deal more than a year after the initial charges were brought against her.

Rizzitello, who resigned from her teaching position just days before her arrest in July 2024, faced serious allegations after two students reported that they had engaged in sexual activities with her during her tenure at the school. Investigators revealed that one student claimed the incidents took place between 2017 and 2018, while the other reported that the assaults occurred in 2024, shortly before Rizzitello’s arrest.

Initially, Rizzitello faced multiple charges, including two counts of sexual assault, three counts of criminal sexual contact, and one count of witness tampering. As part of her plea agreement, the other charges were dismissed after she pleaded guilty to the sexual assault counts. The witness tampering allegation arose from communications Rizzitello reportedly had with one of the victims ahead of her arrest. In these exchanges, she allegedly instructed the student to delete nude photographs she had sent him, indicating a desperate attempt to cover up her actions.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office has indicated that Rizzitello is likely to receive a substantial prison sentence of up to 10 years in connection with her offenses. A sentencing hearing is slated for January 9, 2026, where the court will finalize her punishment. In addition to her prison sentence, Rizzitello will be required to register as a sex offender, endure a lifetime of parole supervision, and will be prohibited from holding any form of public office in the future.

The case has drawn significant attention, highlighting the serious issue of student safety within educational institutions. As this situation unfolds, it serves as a sobering reminder of the critical need for vigilance and accountability in safeguarding the welfare of students in schools across the nation.
