Crawford’s violent spree commenced on February 24, 2023, when he donned a costume resembling that of WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker, complete with black pants, boots, a dark jacket, and animal bones as accessories. In this disguise, he brutally attacked a man who was sleeping on the street, stabbing him nearly 20 times, as reported by investigators. Just one week later, wearing the same outfit, Crawford fatally stabbed Torres as the victim slept in a makeshift tent. He was apprehended shortly after the second assault.
Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner expressed grave concerns regarding Crawford’s actions, stating that, had he not been detained, Crawford might have escalated his violence and gained notoriety as a serial killer.
