Notable shows include performances by the Black Keys and the Avett Brothers in Atlantic City, while Chris Brown and Katy Perry headline Sunday events in South Philadelphia. Country and metal enthusiasts can enjoy dedicated nights in Camden, while the Mann Center hosts a mix of classic R&B and hip-hop.

Thursday ushers in veteran country star Dierks Bentley at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, where he will perform hits like “Drunk On A Plane” and “Beers On Me.” Complementing his performance are rising talents like Zach Top, a country singer whose neo-traditionalist sound recalls the works of icons such as George Strait and Alan Jackson. Top’s sophomore release, “Ain’t in It for My Health,” is set to release on August 29, following his 2024 debut, “Cold Beer and Country Music.” The evening will also feature the Georgia duo, the Band Loula.

On the same night, Jacob Collier, a British polymath known for his fusion of pop, jazz, and classical music, will share the stage with the Philly Pops at the Mann Center. Collier, alongside his mother Suzie conducting, promises an engaging performance. In addition, local talent Chioke will perform at Johnny Brenda’s, while the Velveteers, fronted by Demi Dimitro, will showcase their latest album at MilkBoy.

Further notable performances on Thursday include indie musician Bonnie “Prince” Billy, renowned for his country-inflected work, occurring at the Penn Museum as part of R5 Productions’ indie promotion.

Friday is equally exciting, featuring Lisa Lisa in concert at the Mann as part of her 40th-anniversary tour, joined by a host of other acts including Exposé and Montell Jordan. Rounding out Friday, country artist Cody Jinks will bring his “The Hippies & Cowboys Tour” to The Met.

The weekend kicks off with performances by David Lee Roth and Low Cut Connie in Atlantic City on Friday, followed by competing shows featuring the Avett Brothers and the Black Keys on Saturday night. For those staying local, a free festival titled “Hip-Hop in the Park” will occur Saturday at Eakins Oval, showcasing a compelling lineup of DJs and rappers.

Finally, Chris Brown is set to make his appearance at Citizens Bank Park on Sunday, supported by Summer Walker and Bryson Tiller, marking a significant milestone in his 20-year career despite ongoing legal issues.

As Philadelphia’s vibrant music scene continues to flourish, this weekend’s offerings highlight a captivating blend of established stars and emerging artists, showcasing the city’s deep musical roots and cultural diversity.
