Piper Rockelle from Netflix’s ‘Bad Influence’ updates fans on her current whereabouts and activities.
Netflix has recently released a provocative docuseries titled “Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing,” which centers on the life of popular YouTube figure Piper Rockelle. Once celebrated as a leading child influencer, Rockelle’s journey has drawn both attention and concern, prompting many to inquire about her current situation.
Rockelle’s rise to fame began in 2016 when she, alongside her mother Tiffany Smith, gained significant traction on YouTube. By the age of 8, Rockelle had amassed more than 2 million followers, primarily through videos showcasing her engaging in playful activities such as slime-making and games. With a growing fanbase, Rockelle’s mother expanded their content by incorporating other budding young influencers, resulting in the creation of “The Squad.” This collaborative effort generated substantial revenue, transforming them into a content creation powerhouse.
However, as of 2025, Rockelle continues to engage her audience, boasting over 6.1 million followers on Instagram and 14.7 million on TikTok. Contrastingly, her original YouTube channel faced monetization challenges following serious accusations directed at her mother. Allegations against Smith included misconduct that significantly impacted Rockelle’s career trajectory.
The three-part Netflix docuseries delves into these troubling developments, revealing the fallout that ensued after unsavory aspects of Rockelle’s fanbase came to light. In 2022, Smith and her boyfriend, Hunter Hill, were implicated in a lawsuit filed by 11 teenagers and their guardians. The claim alleged that Smith created a toxic environment that was emotionally and physically abusive, with reports of inappropriate comments and conduct.
Although Smith categorically denied the allegations, she ultimately reached a settlement of .85 million in October 2024. In her statement regarding the settlement, Smith emphasized her intention to prioritize the well-being and mental health of Rockelle and their family, acknowledging the toll that prolonged legal disputes could take on individuals involved.
Before the docuseries premiered, Rockelle expressed her desire to move forward from the turmoil, citing personal struggles with mental health in light of the accusations against her mother. She characterized the claims as untrue and rooted in financial motivations, publicly reaffirming her support for her mother.
Currently, Rockelle has established a new YouTube channel but has not posted any content since the end of 2024. As the docuseries “Bad Influence” garners attention, it remains to be seen how this will impact Rockelle’s future endeavors in the world of social media and entertainment.
