Police clarify that incident in Warrington was not a shooting, contrary to earlier reports.

Warrington Township police are currently investigating a peculiar incident that unfolded on November 8, where a report of a man possibly shot inside a residence prompted an emergency response. At approximately 6 p.m., a 911 caller reported seeing a man down in the garage of a home located in the 2200 block of Matt Way, with a firearm observed nearby.

As police were en route to the scene, they were informed that an argument may have taken place between the alleged victim and another man, who subsequently left the area in a black sedan. Upon arrival, officers discovered an open garage where they found a 54-year-old homeowner slumped forward on the floor, appearing unresponsive. A handgun was located within close proximity to him.

Initial assessments indicated that the man appeared heavily intoxicated, and despite repeated commands from law enforcement, he was initially uncooperative. Eventually, after officers persisted with their instructions, he partially complied and was taken into custody while the firearm was secured. Authorities later confirmed that the weapon in question was not loaded and there were no indications that a shot had been fired within the premises. Additionally, a thorough examination of the home revealed no signs of disturbance.

The homeowner reportedly had a minor cut on his finger, which accounted for traces of blood found on various surfaces, including a neighbor’s vehicle and within his own residence. Police corroborated that the man had been removed from a local business prior to the incident and received a ride home, during which he had exhibited belligerent behavior toward the individual driving him.

Following the incident, the man was transported to the Warrington Township Police Department for a further evaluation and was later released to another individual. Authorities concluded that there was no evidence of foul play and assured the community that there was no ongoing threat. As of the morning of November 10, no charges had been filed in connection with the event.

Local residents have been assured that law enforcement will continue to monitor the situation to maintain the safety and security of the area. Further updates are anticipated as the investigation progresses.
