Quakertown woman causes fatal crash, resulting in two deaths, while distracted by a phone call, according to police reports.

A tragic incident in Bucks County has resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left a pregnant woman injured after a four-vehicle collision on January 31. Investigators report that Tori Gutshall, 29, of Quakertown, has been charged with multiple serious offenses, including homicide by vehicle and involuntary manslaughter, following her alleged role in the deadly crash.

The incident occurred on John Fries Highway in Milford Township under adverse weather conditions characterized by rain and fog, which prompted drivers to exercise caution. Witnesses indicated that Gutshall was driving northbound in a Ford Explorer at a high speed when she veered into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with another Ford Explorer. This collision caused both vehicles to ignite, leading to the tragic fatalities of Aaron and Christie Bisschop, who were occupants of the second vehicle involved in the crash.

In the aftermath of the accident, two additional vehicles were also caught in a collision while attempting to avoid the burning wreckage. One of the individuals in these vehicles was a pregnant woman, who sustained minor injuries and required hospitalization.

Gutshall remains in custody on a bail of 0,000, and her attorney has not publicly commented on the ongoing case. Due to a potential conflict of interest, the state Attorney General’s Office is prosecuting the case, having taken over from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.

Witness statements are disturbing, as one witness who assisted Gutshall from her vehicle noted her erratic movements and dilated pupils, raising suspicions of intoxication. To this, Gutshall reportedly expressed a desire to leave the scene before law enforcement arrived. Following the accident, blood drawn from Gutshall revealed the presence of amphetamines. However, she is not facing DUI charges due to her valid prescription for Adderall, despite a pill bottle with amphetamine salts found in her vehicle, reportedly belonging to her boyfriend.

Gutshall’s mother arrived on-site shortly before police, sharing that an argument had taken place shortly before the crash. Court records indicate that Gutshall had a scheduled court hearing for an unrelated DUI case in Montgomery County just a few days after the incident. In September, she had pleaded guilty to a DUI offense and was sentenced to six months of probation, raising questions about her ability to operate a vehicle safely.

As the investigation progresses, the community remains in mourning over the devastating loss of life and the consequences of reckless driving. The legal proceedings against Gutshall will continue as the facts surrounding this tragic event unfold.
