Queen Mary introduces new haunted staterooms in time for Halloween season.

The Queen Mary, a historic ocean liner renowned for its storied past, is set to enhance its Halloween offerings with the introduction of three themed staterooms. Beginning this month, guests can book overnight stays in rooms inspired by the ship’s reported paranormal activity. Collectively dubbed “Paranormal Passage,” the staterooms—B326, B328, and B334—draw on various legends and eerie tales associated with the famed vessel.

Among the new rooms, The Dressing Chamber pays homage to the enigmatic Lady in White, while Jackie’s Room draws inspiration from a lore tied to the ship’s former first-class swimming pool. The final room, The Officer’s Study, is based on accounts of ghostly figures clad in uniforms that have reportedly been sighted throughout the ship’s passageways. This initiative expands upon the longstanding reputation of Stateroom B340, which has become notorious for its own paranormal claims.

General Manager of the Queen Mary, Dylan Matteson, emphasized the deep fascination many visitors have with the ship’s haunted history. He highlighted that audiences are eager to delve deeper into these intriguing stories and experience the haunting atmosphere for themselves.

In addition to the Paranormal Passage offerings, the Queen Mary is set to launch several seasonal events. One such event, Grey Ghost Galley, is a 90-minute buffet featuring an all-you-can-eat menu on select Dark Harbor evenings in the ship’s Show Room. Priced at , the buffet grants guests early access to the Queen Mary prior to the Dark Harbor festivities kicking off, with seating available at 6 p.m. and additional slots at 4 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Another new experience is Spookeasy, an exclusive gathering aimed at guests aged 21 and over, commencing on September 28. The event features cocktails, tales of the ship’s haunted legacy, and a brief tour, followed by activities in the ship’s N.o3 Speakeasy, which include tarot, crystal and palm readings, and a meditative sound bath. Spookeasy is scheduled from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on select dates throughout late September and mid-October.

The Queen Mary will also host “Murder on the High Seas,” combining a three-course dinner with an interactive musical murder mystery, on select dates from September 13 through October 19. Film enthusiasts can enjoy screenings of classic terror films, including Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho,” “Beetlejuice,” and “The Shining,” at 6:45 p.m. on specified dates.

The popular Dark Harbor Halloween event will return for select nights from September 18 to November 1. This year is particularly significant as it commemorates the 90th anniversary of the Queen Mary’s maiden voyage, which took place in May 1936. The ship has been permanently docked in Long Beach since 1967, continuing to capture the imagination of visitors of all ages.
