Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting: Date, Performers, and Viewing Information Revealed.

The 93rd Annual Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting is scheduled to take place this Wednesday evening in New York City, marking a longstanding seasonal tradition that draws hundreds of thousands of spectators. As anticipation builds for this annual celebration, details regarding the schedule, performances, and viewing options have been released.

The lighting ceremony will kick off at 8 p.m. and will be broadcast live on NBC and Peacock, with the grand illumination occurring shortly before 10 p.m. For those interested in early coverage, NBC 4 New York will commence live reporting at 7 p.m., while streaming on Peacock starts at 6:30 p.m. Additionally, a Spanish-language broadcast will be available on Telemundo, beginning at 9 p.m.

Hosted by notable figures including Natalie Pasquarella, David Ushery, and Mario Lopez, the NBC New York pre-show entitled “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” will create an engaging lead-up to the main event. At 8 p.m., the national broadcast will transition to country music star Reba McEntire, who will join “TODAY” anchors Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, and Craig Melvin for the lighting ceremony.

A lineup of illustrious performers will grace the stage, including Marc Anthony, Halle Bailey, Michael Bublé, Kristin Chenoweth, Laufey, New Edition, Brad Paisley, Carly Pearce, Gwen Stefani, and the iconic Radio City Rockettes. Attendees can expect a festive array of Christmas carols and beloved holiday classics throughout the evening.

This year’s tree, an impressive 75-foot, 11-ton Norway spruce from Albany, New York, will serve as the centerpiece for the festivities. Adorned with approximately 50,000 multicolored LED lights and topped with a striking 9-foot-diameter Swarovski crystal star, the tree promises to be a captivating sight. Following the holiday season, the tree will be removed and repurposed into lumber for Habitat for Humanity, continuing a tradition of community support.

The Rockefeller Center tree will be on display at 45 Rockefeller Plaza through mid-January, illuminated daily from 5 a.m. to midnight. All-day lighting is planned for Christmas Eve, with a schedule of 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.

As with any major event, road closures will affect traffic in the vicinity. Streets impacted include 46th to 52nd Streets between 5th and 6th Avenues, 5th Avenue from 46th to 52nd Streets, 6th Avenue in the same range, and Rockefeller Plaza between 48th and 51st Streets. The city will also implement a holiday season gridlock alert through January 2, further advising residents and visitors to plan their travels accordingly.
