Second suspect identified in the death of Celeste Rivas, a teen discovered deceased in D4vd’s vehicle.
Los Angeles law enforcement has made significant strides in the investigation surrounding the tragic death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a runaway teenager. New developments indicate that authorities have identified a second suspect linked to her apparent murder. Celeste’s dismembered remains were discovered in September, concealed within the trunk of a Tesla owned by singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.
The information regarding the identification of the new suspect came to light during a recent episode of the “2 Angry Men” podcast. Hosted by high-profile lawyer Harvey Levin and defense attorney Mark Geragos, the podcast revealed that while the second suspect is not believed to have directly caused Celeste’s death, this individual likely played a part in the dismemberment of her remains.
Sources associated with the investigation noted that D4vd had made a trip to a remote area in Santa Barbara County late at night, a journey that Levin considers critical to understanding the case. Geragos has indicated that he is aware of additional names under investigation but has refrained from disclosing them at this time due to the ongoing nature of the inquiry.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s investigation has been informed by a combination of data from cellphones, Tesla tracking, and social media location information. This technological evidence has reportedly led to the pinpointing of the new suspect, indicating a connection to the last movements of the vehicle in which Celeste’s remains were found.
Celeste Rivas was just 13 years old when she was last seen by her family in the spring of 2024, following several attempts to run away from her home located in Lake Elsinore, California. Her remains were found on September 8, approximately 75 miles from her hometown.
While the exact nature of D4vd’s relationship with Rivas remains ambiguous, acquaintances have suggested that the two were romantically involved. Rivas’ mother has corroborated this, stating her daughter referred to a boyfriend named David.
Contrary to some reports, it has been established that D4vd has not been cooperating with law enforcement throughout the investigation. Much remains uncertain regarding the timeline of Rivas’ death, though authorities have tentatively concluded that she likely died in the spring of 2025.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner is still working to determine an official cause of death; once established, this could lead to arrests and charges against the identified suspects, according to various sources within the investigation. The case continues to garner public attention as the community awaits further developments.
