Seven individuals wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of two men on a Bronx street.
Authorities have released images of seven individuals linked to the fatal shooting of two young men in the Bronx. The incident, which left 22-year-old Gabriel Alvarez and 21-year-old Adam Waldropt dead, took place early Monday morning on Brush Avenue near Schley Avenue, adjacent to Ferry Point Park.
According to police reports, the shooting occurred at approximately 6 a.m. Both victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds; Alvarez was struck in the armpit and shoulder, while Waldropt suffered injuries to his abdomen and buttocks. Emergency responders arrived swiftly, transporting the victims to Jacobi Medical Center, but medical staff were unable to save them.
The tragic incident has left family and friends mourning the loss of two promising young lives. Waldropt was remembered by his friend Javarr Salley, who described him as optimistic and outgoing. Salley recounted plans that were made for the day of the shooting, which included attending the Dominican Day Parade. Waldropt ultimately chose to remain home with his wife, a decision that would prove to be heartbreaking as he later lost his life.
Alvarez, who was temporarily staying in the Bronx while visiting his girlfriend, had roots in Connecticut. A family member, wishing to remain anonymous, expressed disbelief over the incident, stating that he was a good person who did not deserve such a fate. This sentiment echoes through the community, as friends of both victims struggle to comprehend the senseless violence.
The police continue to investigate the incident and seek public assistance in identifying the individuals involved. Of the seven people being sought, two suspects were observed wearing black ski masks and were reported to have fled the scene on a moped. Local authorities urge anyone with information regarding the suspects’ identities or whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS; all tips will be handled confidentially.
As the investigation unfolds, the Bronx community grapples with the aftermath of this tragedy, reminding many of the stark realities of violence that can intrude upon everyday life. With friends and family left to mourn, the call for justice is accompanied by an appeal for deeper understanding and action to prevent such incidents in the future.
