Shooting at Fort Worth park injures one child, one police officer, and two women.

Fort Worth law enforcement authorities are actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday evening at Stop Six Park, during a large gathering, resulting in multiple injuries. According to a news release from the Fort Worth Police Department, the shooting transpired around 9:10 p.m., injuring a child, a police officer, and two women.

The shooting took place at Stop Six Park, situated at 5200 East Rosedale Street, during a planned community event. Eyewitness accounts reveal that the unidentified assailant, clad in all black, emerged from an area between an apartment complex and a nearby strip center. The suspect opened fire towards the gathering before fleeing towards the apartment building.

Among the victims was a woman who sustained a gunshot wound to the head. She was transported to a local hospital and remains in critical condition, as per the latest updates from the police. Additionally, a nearby Fort Worth police officer, who was stationed in a parked patrol vehicle at the time of the shooting, was injured when a bullet penetrated the windshield of his car, causing shrapnel to strike him in the neck. Fortunately, the officer is expected to recover from these non-life-threatening injuries.

A child was also injured in the incident; a bullet grazed the child’s head. Meanwhile, an elderly woman suffered a hip injury due to gunfire. Both the child and the elderly woman were taken to hospitals where they are receiving treatment for non-life-threatening conditions.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities have reported no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
