Social media influencer sentenced to 3 to 9 years for fatal high-speed crash that killed a Brooklyn mother and her two children.
Wig-making influencer Miriam Yarimi has entered a plea deal that will see her sentenced to three to nine years in prison for her involvement in a fatal incident that claimed the lives of a mother and her two young daughters in Brooklyn. Yarimi, 33, was charged following a tragic incident on March 29, 2025, when she drove her Audi A3, which had a suspended registration, into Natasha Saada, 35, and her three children, resulting in three fatalities.
During the court proceedings, Yarimi described her state of mind at the time of the accident, citing a sense of inner turmoil. In the collision, Saada and her daughters, aged five and eight, were killed instantly, while their four-year-old son, Philip, suffered severe injuries.
Although the prosecution sought a harsher penalty of five to fifteen years, Judge Danny Chen of Brooklyn Supreme Court reduced the sentencing recommendation to three to nine years. Sentencing for Yarimi is scheduled to take place soon, highlighting the court’s effort to address issues related to reckless driving and its tragic consequences. Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez emphasized the severity of the case, stating that the actions of a reckless driver led to the loss of innocent lives, though he acknowledged the court’s decision fell short of the maximum they had sought.
An investigation into Yarimi’s driving record revealed a concerning history, including nearly ,000 in traffic violations. On the day of the incident, she was reportedly speeding at 68 mph through red lights, a speed significantly above the limit, effectively demonstrating the risks associated with her driving behavior.
Witnesses recounted that Yarimi’s vehicle crashed into another car before striking the family on Ocean Parkway, causing her car to flip over upon impact. Since her arrest, Yarimi has remained in custody, facing multiple counts of manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, and assault.
In the hours following the crash, Yarimi made statements to law enforcement about her mental state, expressing fears surrounding her past traumas and a lack of understanding of the incident’s gravity. These claims stem from a legal battle she previously undertook against the NYPD, alleging abuse during her teenage years, for which she received a settlement.
As the case progresses, Yarimi’s legal team has referenced her challenging background in their defense. The upcoming sentencing will mark a significant moment in addressing the ramifications of reckless driving and its impact on victims and communities.
