Authorities responded to the scene just after 6 p.m. on Saturday, following a call regarding a juvenile in possession of a knife. Upon arrival, they discovered Serrano suffering from multiple stab wounds inside her home. She was subsequently transported to AtlantiCare Medical Center located in Atlantic City, where she was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.

The suspect was apprehended at the scene without further incident, as law enforcement officials were able to locate him in the vicinity.
