Sting and Shaggy’s One Fine Day festival will return to the Mann Center in Philadelphia.

In a remarkable blend of musical styles and cultural influences, Sting and Shaggy are set to reprise their collaborative festival, “One Fine Day,” in 2023. This much-anticipated event will take place on Saturday, September 6, at the Mann Center in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia. The inaugural festival held in 2021 captured the imagination of audiences and artists alike, prompting its return.

This year’s lineup promises an eclectic mix of talent, featuring performances by reggae-infused alternative rock band O.A.R., the Original Wailers, which includes Al Anderson, a guitarist who contributed to Bob Marley’s legendary track “No Woman, No Cry.” Joining them will be New Orleans bounce artist Big Freedia, along with electro-pop sensation Sophie Grey, reggae vocalist Marci Griffiths, and Chance Emerson, a unique artist described as a “half-Asian singing cowboy,” who is also a descendant of the 19th-century Transcendentalist writer Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Sting and Shaggy’s partnership began with the release of their collaborative album “44/876” in 2018, symbolizing the cultural convergence of England and Jamaica through the respective country codes. Their creative collaboration continued with the 2022 release of “Com Fly Wid Mi,” a Shaggy album featuring reggae reinterpretations of Frank Sinatra classics, produced by Sting. This artistic synergy has generated a palpable excitement among fans and artists alike.

Sting expressed enthusiasm for returning to Philadelphia, stating that the vibrant atmosphere and connection with the audience during the first festival were unforgettable. He noted the effortless creative chemistry between himself and Shaggy, emphasizing their shared exploration of new musical directions.

The festival will cater to various audiences, including a VIP experience that offers exclusive access to a lounge featuring cheese paired with fine wines produced at Sting and his wife Trudie Styler’s vineyard in Tuscany. Pre-sale tickets will be available starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, with general sales commencing on Friday, May 30, also at 10 a.m.

As the two artists prepare to guide audiences through another celebration of music that is rich in energy and creativity, One Fine Day is poised to solidify its place as an essential event on Philadelphia’s cultural calendar. With its diverse lineup and the unique dynamic between Sting and Shaggy, the festival embodies a fusion of musical heritage that transcends genres and invites all to join in the celebration.
