Suspect in Queens rape attack wearing a ‘ghost face’ sweatshirt has been arrested, according to law enforcement.
A 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with a violent attack on a woman in Queens, New York, which reportedly involved him wearing a “Ghost Face” sweatshirt inspired by the popular “Scream” horror movie franchise. The incident occurred in the early hours of April 11, when the suspect, identified as Rody Morales, allegedly approached a 50-year-old woman around 3 a.m. near the intersection of 162nd Street and 89th Avenue, close to the NYCHA Shelton Houses in Jamaica.
According to police reports, Morales threatened the victim with a knife before assaulting her. Following the attack, he fled the scene heading south on 89th Avenue. Surveillance footage captured images of the assailant, revealing that he wore a black baseball cap adorned with an Adidas logo, black and white Air Jordan sneakers, and a black sweatshirt featuring bold red lettering and an image of the infamous “Scream” character.
Upon his apprehension, Morales was escorted from the 112th Precinct in Forest Hills, appearing stoic and unresponsive to reporters’ inquiries. He has been charged with multiple offenses, including rape, assault, sexual abuse, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, and harassment. Morales’s arraignment in Queens Criminal Court was anticipated but had not occurred as of Wednesday evening.
