Texas A&M student Brianna Aguilera’s death officially classified as suicide.

The tragic death of a Texas A&M University student has drawn attention after police confirmed that the case has been ruled a suicide. Brianna Aguilera, a 19-year-old student, was discovered deceased outside the 21 Rio apartments in Austin on Saturday morning. Authorities reported that her body exhibited signs consistent with a fall from a height, and a suicide note was located on her phone, alongside indications of prior suicidal thoughts.

According to the Austin Police Department, emergency services were dispatched to the student housing complex shortly before 1 a.m. on Saturday, where they found Aguilera’s body on the ground. Family members disclosed that Aguilera had recently attended a tailgate event for the Texas A&M vs. University of Texas football game, having been in the company of friends prior to the incident.

Following extensive investigations that included interviewing numerous witnesses and examining available evidence, police stated there was no indication of foul play. Detective Robert Marshall, the lead investigator in the case, noted that Aguilera had made remarks about self-harm to friends as recently as October. Investigators also recovered a previously deleted note from her phone, dated November 25, which contained messages directed towards specific individuals in her life, reflecting her emotional distress.

Reports indicate that Aguilera had consumed a considerable amount of alcohol at the tailgate, leading to her being asked to leave. Witnesses recounted hearing her engaged in a heated phone conversation with her boyfriend shortly before the 911 call was made reporting her fall.

Sgt. Nathan Sexton from the Austin Police emphasized that the entirety of the evidence collected in the investigation pointed toward suicide. However, this ruling has prompted a response from Aguilera’s family. They have enlisted the services of a prominent Houston attorney, Tony Buzbee, to further investigate the circumstances surrounding her death. Buzbee stated that Aguilera’s parents believe there may be more information to uncover and strongly question the determination of suicide.
