A woman from the Houston area has been charged with murder following a tragic incident in which she allegedly shot her four children, resulting in the deaths of two of them. Oninda Romelus, age 31, was formally charged on Saturday with two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She is currently being held on a staggering million bail, as announced by the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred early on Saturday morning, with deputies responding to a 911 call placed at approximately 4:48 a.m. The call was made by Romelus, who reported a shooting involving multiple children in Angleton, Texas, a city located about 45 miles south of Houston with a population of around 19,500 residents. According to Sheriff Bo Stallman, Romelus instructed law enforcement to meet her at a nearby gas station along a local highway.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a deeply distressing scene: a 13-year-old boy and a 3 or 4-year-old girl were found dead inside the vehicle, while an 8-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy were discovered in critical condition.
