Three individuals identified in Massachusetts murder-suicide incident.
Authorities have identified the three individuals found dead in what is suspected to be a tragic murder-suicide in Springfield, Massachusetts, last month. Among the deceased are two residents from Connecticut. The incident, which has drawn significant attention, occurred just days before Thanksgiving and involved a stabbing that took place at a residence on the 1400 block of State Street.
According to the Springfield Police Department, officers were dispatched to the scene on November 25 at approximately 9:50 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered three victims—two men and a woman—each suffering from stab wounds. Unfortunately, all three were pronounced dead at the location.
The Hamden District Attorney’s Office later identified the victims as 67-year-old Khamkieo Chingvacha from Springfield and 47-year-old Sachivanh Phomphanh from West Hartford, Connecticut. Details concerning the suspect were also released. He has been identified as 43-year-old Kung Kedjumnong, who is also a resident of West Hartford. The District Attorney’s Office stated that Kedjumnong allegedly fatally stabbed both Chingvacha and Phomphanh before taking his own life.
This investigation is being led by the Springfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit under the guidance of Captain Trent Duda, alongside the Hampden District Attorney’s Murder Unit. District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni extended his condolences to the families affected by this tragedy, acknowledging the profound loss experienced by the loved ones of the victims.
As the investigation continues, officials have indicated that they do not currently believe there is any ongoing threat to the community.
