Three New Jersey teenagers face charges after a pop-up party resulted in a stampede and gunfire.
Three teenagers from New Jersey have been charged following a disruptive pop-up party in Glassboro that took place in late June, resulting in violence and chaos. The incident, which occurred on June 29, 2025, attracted an estimated 500 attendees and escalated into a scene characterized by disorderly conduct, including a physical altercation and a subsequent shooting.
Authorities identified two of the individuals charged as 18-year-olds Serenity Hall from Camden and Elijah Evans from Pine Hill, alongside a 17-year-old suspect from Glassboro, who is not named due to age restrictions. The Glassboro Police Department indicated that the trio was instrumental in orchestrating the event through a digital flyer that spread across social media platforms. The flyer, which explicitly encouraged attendees to bring speakers, contained provocative language suggesting attendees should disregard police presence.
On the night of the event, revelers gathered on Rowan Boulevard, engaging in activities that blocked traffic and contributed to a loud and chaotic environment. As law enforcement arrived to manage the situation, a brawl erupted, leading to several injuries, including a notable head injury that required medical assistance.
The situation intensified shortly after midnight, when a verbal dispute escalated, resulting in a shooting by a 20-year-old individual named Lavonta Moore, a resident of Sicklerville. Moore discharged a firearm, striking a victim in the pelvis and igniting widespread panic among party goers, who fled in various directions seeking safety. The injured party member was transported to Cooper Hospital for treatment.
Moore has since been charged with multiple offenses, including attempted murder, following his actions during the altercation. In a follow-up statement, Glassboro police announced charges against Hall, Evans, and the 17-year-old, each facing a fourth-degree charge of inciting a public brawl. This charge carries potential penalties of up to 18 months in prison and fines of ,000.
Officials emphasized that these charges serve as a reminder to individuals considering similar disruptive behavior. The police reiterated their commitment to maintaining community safety, asserting that unauthorized gatherings promoting unlawful conduct will not be tolerated in Glassboro. As investigations continue, local law enforcement remains vigilant in addressing issues that compromise the safety and security of the community.
