Two Hillsborough schools to receive new principals.

Gary Graham, who has been serving as the principal at Durant High School, will transition to take on the role of inaugural principal at the soon-to-open Plant City Technical College. Graham brings with him an extensive background in education, having commenced his teaching career three decades ago at Durant High. Over the years, he has held various administrative positions at several high schools, including Bloomingdale, Spoto, and Newsome. In parallel, Jennifer Edelblute-Caggia will step into the role of principal at Jackson Elementary School. Previously serving as the school’s assistant principal, Edelblute-Caggia has a long-standing career in education that began when she started teaching at Riverview Elementary School in 2000. Over the years, she has held teaching positions at multiple elementary schools, including Cork Elementary, Collins Elementary, and Roland Park K-8. Her promotion follows the retirement of Melody Murphy, who has been at the helm of Jackson Elementary since 2021 and has dedicated 35 years to the educational sector in Hillsborough County.
These leadership appointments highlight the school board’s commitment to nurturing experienced educators equipped to guide their institutions effectively.
