Two men fatally shot in Holmesburg in apparent execution-style violence, according to police reports.

Two men were found dead in an apparent execution-style shooting early Saturday morning in the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia, near Pennypack Park. The Philadelphia Police Department reported that officers responded to multiple gunfire reports at approximately 4:12 a.m. When they arrived at the intersection of Enfield and Solly Avenues, they discovered two men, aged 35 and 39, exhibiting no vital signs. The men were pronounced dead at the scene by the Philadelphia Fire Department medic unit at 4:22 a.m.

Captain Shaun Butts, speaking to media representatives at the location, confirmed that both victims had sustained gunshot wounds to the head and had their hands zip-tied behind their backs. This gruesome detail raises concerns regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting. At the time of the incident, a female witness who remains unidentified was nearby and reported hearing two gunshots. Upon investigating the source of the noise, she encountered a man who brandished a firearm and demanded a bag from her.

According to the witness, when she did not comply with the demand, the assailant and an accomplice fled the scene in a green minivan. Police have indicated that they believe two individuals were involved in the killings. Currently, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. In a broader context, the rise in violent crime has become a significant concern for Philadelphia.
