Two teenagers charged and a third suspect sought in fatal shooting linked to street gang conflict in Norristown, according to local authorities.

Two teenagers have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old in Norristown, Pennsylvania, a tragic incident reportedly linked to gang violence. Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele announced the developments on Tuesday, highlighting the ongoing street gang feud as a potential motive behind the crime.

Seventeen-year-old Theodore Adams was apprehended on Tuesday in Newark, New Jersey, and is currently awaiting extradition to face charges related to the death of Hamid Boyd, who was shot on November 30. Eighteen-year-old Mark Fields was taken into custody on December 12. Meanwhile, authorities are seeking 20-year-old Ziyker Washington from Norristown, who has an outstanding arrest warrant.

The police responded to reports of a shooting just after 6 p.m. on November 30 in the 1000 block of Powell Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Boyd lying on the street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was subsequently transported to Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

A GoFundMe page created for Boyd, who is survived by a two-year-old daughter, has drawn attention and support from the community.

Investigators at the scene recovered 45 spent shell casings from two distinct firearms, along with an extended magazine linked to a 9mm handgun and other ballistic evidence. The investigation revealed that the three accused were together in a Norristown apartment prior to the shooting. Washington allegedly took his girlfriend’s white Chevrolet Cruze and the trio subsequently left the premises.

Surveillance footage captured the white Chevrolet Cruze near the scene of the shooting, where it was utilized as a getaway vehicle. According to the probable cause affidavit, these individuals are associated with a gang known as “the 1200’s,” which is reportedly embroiled in a feud with another gang, “the Ave.” Boyd is believed to have had affiliations with the latter.

Two days before the shooting, Washington reportedly uploaded a photo to Instagram displaying a handgun while posing with Adams and Fields. This post included a caption that appeared to express hostility towards “the Ave.” Following Boyd’s death, Washington’s Instagram account was either deactivated or renamed, according to investigators.

Detectives traced the Chevrolet Cruze to Washington’s girlfriend, discovering it was registered to her mother. An informant indicated that the girlfriend was in the process of trying to sell the vehicle, which has since been impounded for evidence. Investigators are also examining the possibility that a firearm may have been taken from Boyd during the altercation, suggesting he may have returned fire during a potential shootout.

As the investigation unfolds, law enforcement officials are working diligently to bring all parties involved to justice in this tragic case.
