WorkForge, a company specializing in workforce training tailored to the food manufacturing sector, has announced the upcoming launch of its innovative training platform, WorkForge Shift. This platform is designed to enhance the assessment of frontline worker competency, manage compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), and streamline employee training within the food and beverage manufacturing landscape. The anticipated release date for WorkForge Shift is set for February 1, 2027.
The core functionality of WorkForge Shift allows supervisors to observe employees executing tasks on the production floor while digitally documenting their competency. This initiative seeks to move beyond a conventional reliance on training completion records, placing emphasis on task performance validation. By fostering a direct assessment of employee capabilities, WorkForge aims to enhance operational efficiency and maintain high standards within the manufacturing environment.
A significant feature of the WorkForge Shift platform is the “Behavior Checks.” This tool empowers supervisors and workers to collaboratively sign off on records reflecting successful on-the-job performance. These electronic records are immutable post-signing, thereby providing robust documentation crucial for food safety audits.
The platform is equipped with a diverse array of functionalities, including a training content builder that supports translation into over 20 languages, automated training assignments and renewals, and digital skills matrices that meticulously track employees’ qualifications. Furthermore, WorkForge Shift will enable manufacturers to promptly update training modules in response to procedural changes and identify employees in need of retraining.
The development of WorkForge Shift is a direct response to prevalent challenges in the industry, particularly those related to workforce turnover, inconsistent adherence to SOPs, and the limitations of existing training infrastructures. Evidence from the ninth annual Global Food Safety Training Survey highlights an alarming trend, revealing that one in five facilities reported that workers did not consistently adhere to SOPs. Furthermore, only 11 percent of survey respondents expressed strong confidence in employee compliance with safety protocols.
WorkForge Shift will feature over 770 ready-to-use courses across 15 subject areas, encompassing vital topics such as food safety, occupational health and safety, and equipment maintenance. The platform’s design accommodates a variety of devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and shared kiosks, thereby optimizing accessibility and ease of use for training purposes.
As WorkForge prepares for the launch of this pivotal training solution, the company underscores its commitment to improving adherence to safety standards and enhancing workforce competency within the food manufacturing sector. This initiative represents a significant advancement in training methodologies aimed at fostering a more knowledgeable and compliant workforce.
