68-year-old woman assaulted in Brooklyn road rage incident over parking dispute.

A 68-year-old woman was the victim of a violent assault in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn, as she attempted to park her vehicle outside a Food Bazaar Supermarket. The incident occurred around 7:40 PM on August 13, when the elderly woman was confronted by a man and a woman who arrived in a green sedan.

According to police reports, the woman signaled to the couple that she was preparing to occupy a parking space. The situation escalated when the man exited their vehicle and approached her driver-side window to engage in an argument. In a surprising turn of events, the victim exited her vehicle, which led to the woman accompanying the man physically attacking her. Witnesses say the aggressor began punching the woman in the face, causing her to fall onto the pavement.

Following the altercation, the suspects quickly retreated to their vehicle and fled the scene, heading east on Varet Street. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived shortly after and transported the victim to Woodhull Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries.

Authorities have obtained surveillance footage of the incident and have released images of the suspects in hopes of collecting leads from the public. The female suspect is described as wearing a gray shirt, gray pants, a black jacket, and white sneakers, while the male suspect wore a white tank top, black pants, and a black head wrap.

This violent episode occurs against the backdrop of a recent decline in felony assaults within the Williamsburg area, specifically in the jurisdiction of the 90th Precinct. NYPD statistics indicate an 8% decrease in assaults in this area, with reported incidents dropping from 195 to 178 this year. In a wider city context, felony assaults have seen a marginal decrease of 1%, from 18,814 incidents last year to 18,603 this year.
