New apartment developments open in Suburban Square.
Apartments are now a reality at Suburban Square, a well-known shopping destination in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. This week, Kimco Realty, the owner of Suburban Square, in collaboration with Bozzuto Development, unveiled Coulter Place, marking the introduction of its first apartment community at this commercial hub.
Coulter Place comprises a five-story mixed-use development that features a total of 131 apartments, ranging from one to three bedrooms. Additionally, the community will offer approximately 20,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. This initiative aims to enhance the neighborhood by providing a variety of amenities for residents, including a fitness center, clubroom, game room, and a swimming pool. For those who work from home, dedicated coworking spaces are available, along with pet-care facilities. The property boasts two courtyards and includes garage parking equipped with electric vehicle charging stations, reflecting a growing commitment to sustainable living.
The introduction of apartment residents is expected to attract new retail opportunities to Suburban Square. Notable brands such as New Balance, Sugared + Bronzed, and the apparel company Rhone have already established locations on the ground floor of the apartment building, further enhancing the shopping environment for both residents and visitors.
Coulter Place is one of several recent projects in the area aimed at increasing the availability of housing near Lancaster Avenue. Another development, One Ardmore, consists of 110 rental units and opened its doors in 2019 after significant community resistance. Furthermore, the anticipated Piazza development is projected to introduce 270 new apartments along with nearly 30,000 square feet of additional retail space, slated to open within the next few years.
The apartments at Coulter Place are strategically located near prominent landmarks such as Trader Joe’s and the Ardmore Farmers Market, providing an array of shopping and dining options. The property is also conveniently situated within walking distance of the Ardmore train station, which services both SEPTA and Amtrak lines, facilitating easy transportation for residents.
Rental prices at Coulter Place vary, with one-bedroom, one-bathroom units starting at approximately ,030 per month and larger three-bedroom, two-bathroom units fetching as much as ,035 per month.
Since its inception in 1928, Suburban Square has evolved to include around 80 establishments, featuring a mix of shops, restaurants, and wellness centers. The complex is home to popular businesses, including Apple, SoulCycle, Warby Parker, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, CAVA, and Di Bruno Bros. The latest addition of Coulter Place further solidifies Suburban Square’s reputation as a vibrant, walkable destination that continues to develop in line with community needs and preferences.
