Tastemakers of Orange County launches its 10th annual event this year.

Orange County’s culinary landscape will once again converge for a charitable cause at the eagerly anticipated 10th annual Tastemakers of Orange County. Scheduled to take place in September, this event promises an evening of delightful cuisine and cultural celebration, all while raising essential funds for the Orange County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance (OCAPICA).

The event is set for Thursday, September 3, at the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza located at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa. Attendees can expect to enjoy an al fresco dining experience featuring a myriad of small plates inspired by the rich culinary traditions of Asian and Pacific Islander communities. More than twenty-five prominent chefs and eateries from the region are participating this year, each offering their own unique take on regional flavors.

Among the esteemed chefs participating are Winnie Yee of Smoke Queen Barbecue, James Hamamori from Hamamori, Minh Phan of Hanuman Thai Eatery, and Amar Santana of Vaca. Other notable names include Sachi Mehra from Adya, Rich Mead of the Farmhouse at Roger’s Gardens, and Wing Lam of Wahoo’s Fish Tacos. Together, they will showcase their culinary talents, contributing to a vibrant atmosphere filled with creativity and community spirit.

The Tastemakers initiative has evolved significantly since its inception a decade ago. In a time marked by financial uncertainty, OCAPICA found an innovative solution in the collaboration of chefs and restaurants, all dedicated to supporting Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. Since then, the nonprofit has expanded its impact, enhancing services in mental health, youth development, housing assistance, and educational programs directed at immigrant communities throughout Orange County.

As part of the evening’s festivities, guests will enjoy unlimited tastings from various chefs, live entertainment, and a chance to win exciting prizes through an opportunity drawing. The event will cater to both VIP ticket holders, running from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for 5, and general admission guests from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for 5.
