Second murder charge filed after brother succumbs to injuries from Manhattan Beach crash that resulted in sister’s death.

A tragic incident in Manhattan Beach has resulted in the death of a 26-year-old man, marking a deep loss for the Antich family. The man, identified as Michael Antich, succumbed to his injuries on October 17 in a local hospital, eight days after a catastrophic multi-vehicle crash that also claimed the life of his sister, 24-year-old Danielle Antich. The incident occurred on October 9 and has led to significant legal repercussions for the accused driver, Antolin Titus, 35.

In the wake of the incident, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has amended the charges against Titus to include two counts of murder. The revised complaint, filed on October 26, also maintains DUI and reckless driving charges, in addition to counts for possession of nitrous oxide and driving without a valid license. Responding officers reported witnessing Titus’s vehicle collide with another, which then propelled the two cars into a nearby police SUV and a fourth vehicle.

Danielle Antich was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, while her brother, who had recently graduated from Loma Linda University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program, sustained serious traumatic injuries that ultimately led to his death. According to a GoFundMe campaign launched by their sister Nicole, Michael had aspirations of specializing in pediatric or acute care physical therapy.

Danielle, the youngest sibling, graduated from California State University, Northridge, with a degree in journalism. The twins, Nicole and Danielle, were reportedly returning home together following an outing when their vehicle was struck by Titus’s car. The loss of both siblings has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting an outpouring of support as friends and family mourn the tragic events.

Following the amended charges, Titus’s bail has been set at .1 million, a substantial increase from the initial .1 million as requested by prosecutors. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him. As the investigation continues, the legal proceedings will be closely followed by both the community affected by this tragedy and the families seeking justice for their losses.

This heart-wrenching case underscores the severe consequences of reckless driving and DUI offenses, highlighting the deep impact such incidents can have on families and communities. The Antich family’s pursuit of justice will undoubtedly resonate as a call for greater awareness surrounding road safety and responsible driving.
