On Thursday, local health officials reported that Israeli airstrikes claimed at least 15 lives in two separate incidents in Gaza City. Notably, nine individuals were killed at a school sheltering displaced families in the Sheikh Radwan suburb. A separate attack in Khan Younis, located in the southern part of the enclave, resulted in nine fatalities near a tent encampment.
Hospital sources further indicated that a drone strike on the bustling marketplace in Deir el-Balah contributed to the rising death toll, bringing the total casualties from recent Israeli assaults to over 30. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society also noted that three additional individuals were killed while queuing for humanitarian aid near the Netzarim Corridor, an area where aid distribution points have tragically become sites of violence, resulting in high fatalities.
As outlined by Gaza’s Government Media Office, at least 549 Palestinians have lost their lives while attempting to secure food from these essential aid distribution centers since the operations of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) commenced on May 27.
