Toxicology results indicated that he had a blood alcohol level of 0.168 at the time of his death, in addition to significant amounts of caffeine and other drugs present in his system.

Kratom, derived from the leaves of the Mitragyna speciosa tree found in Southeast Asia, contains the alkaloid mitragynine. Historically, it has been utilized as a traditional remedy in rural communities, where locals may chew the leaves or brew them into tea. It is sold in numerous forms, such as pills, powders, concentrated extracts, and even gummies. The term “gas station heroin” is primarily associated with tianeptine, an antidepressant that remains unapproved in the United States. However, kratom and similar substances are often included in discussions surrounding this label due to their perceived similarities in effects and risks.

Styles entered the adult entertainment industry in 2021 and quickly amassed a substantial following, reaching over a million subscribers on platforms such as OnlyFans. However, his struggles with substance abuse were well-documented, with reports indicating he had a history of drug use spanning 13 years, including significant past usage of heroin and methamphetamine. Previous instances of overdose and legal issues further illustrate the challenges he faced.
