Bucks County teacher charged with possession of child pornography at Catholic grade school.
A 65-year-old educator from Warminster Township has been arrested and charged with possession and distribution of child pornography, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s office. Richard Allen Adamsky, who has a longstanding career as a teacher at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic School, was detained Wednesday morning following the execution of a search warrant at his residence.
Adamsky, who also served as a sports coach at the school, is currently being held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility on bail set at 0,000. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 4. In light of the allegations, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s spokesperson, Kenneth A. Gavin, confirmed that Adamsky has been placed on administrative leave while the legal proceedings unfold.
According to officials, neither the school nor the Archdiocese had prior indications of any wrongdoing by Adamsky before his arrest. Gavin stated that as part of his employment, Adamsky had maintained up-to-date criminal background checks and child abuse clearances. Furthermore, there had been no prior complaints of inappropriate behavior involving minors against him. It is important to note that the current criminal case does not involve allegations of physical harm to a minor.
The investigation that led to Adamsky’s arrest began on March 30, 2023, following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tippert raised concerns about online activity linked to a pornographic image of a prepubescent girl. Subsequent investigative efforts traced this activity back to Adamsky.
According to the findings detailed in the criminal complaint, Adamsky reportedly confessed to searching for, downloading, and storing hundreds of images of child pornography over a period of four to five years. When questioned about the number of images he had saved, he allegedly responded that it was “too many.”
The investigation is being conducted by the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, with collaboration from the Pennsylvania Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which has detectives from both the Bensalem Township Police Department and the Warminster Township Police Department involved in the case.
Authorities have indicated that the investigation remains ongoing, and they encourage anyone with relevant information to come forward and reach out to Warminster Detective Stephen Wojciechowski at 215-672-1000. The community continues to grapple with the implications of this distressing situation as the legal process unfolds.
