FBI offers reward for information on armored truck robberies in Philadelphia and Montgomery County.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced a reward of up to ,000 for information that leads to the apprehension and conviction of individuals involved in a series of robberies targeting armored trucks in the Philadelphia and Cheltenham areas. These incidents occurred between June 26 and August 12, and the FBI believes that the same unidentified suspects are behind four robberies and one attempted robbery associated with the same criminal pattern.
It is important to note that these suspects are distinct from three individuals recently charged in connection with another high-profile robbery involving the theft of million from a Brinks armored truck in Port Richmond on June 21, 2023. The FBI’s investigation into these separate cases indicates a potential link between the robberies, as law enforcement officials believe that the unidentified men may have been involved in each incident. In three of these robberies, the suspects managed to seize the duty weapons from the armored truck drivers, escalating the danger posed during these criminal events. In all reported cases of robbery, the suspects were reportedly armed with a black handgun and AR-style rifles.
Initial reports from the FBI suggest that two to three unknown individuals were present during each robbery, and descriptions of the suspects include Black males in their 20s with a thin to medium build. One of the suspects is highlighted as having a light complexion, hazel eyes, and freckles. During the commission of these crimes, the suspects have been observed wearing all-black clothing, including hooded sweatshirts and pants, along with gloves and face coverings to conceal their identities.
The authorities have detailed a range of vehicles used in the robberies, which include a brown Nissan Altima, a silver Honda Accord, a black Nissan Maxima, a black Dodge Durango, and a black Acura TLX. Each of these vehicles was noted to have dark tinted windows, which may complicate their identification.
In a related development, three individuals—Trayvine Jackson, Daishaun Hughes-Murchison, and Brian Wallace—were charged in the earlier Port Richmond robbery. Jackson, who was an employee of Brinks, had reportedly prior knowledge of the armored truck’s operations. Following his arrest, a search of his residence unveiled over million in cash, along with packaging materials typically used for bundling cash and weapons similar to those used during the robbery.
The resolution of these crimes remains a priority for the FBI as they continue to investigate the series of armored truck robberies affecting the region. Citizens with any pertinent information are encouraged to reach out to law enforcement, as their contributions could be instrumental in bringing these suspects to justice.
