Former Connecticut high school teacher charged with sexually assaulting a student on school premises.

A former physical education teacher and girls’ track coach at Shelton High School in Connecticut was arrested on Friday in connection with allegations of sexual misconduct involving a student. The arrest of 38-year-old Jason Kymer, a resident of Beacon Falls, has raised significant concerns regarding the safety of students within educational institutions.

According to a news release from the Shelton Police Department, Kymer has been charged with second-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a child, and tampering with a witness. The allegations reportedly involve a sexual relationship that began while the victim was a 17-year-old student at Shelton High School. In June, the Connecticut Department of Children and Families confirmed its involvement with local authorities in an investigation regarding Kymer.
