Italian model killed in stabbing incident involving her estranged boyfriend, who reportedly attacked her 24 times.

Italian model Pamela Genini has tragically died following a brutal incident in which her partner, identified as Gianluca Soncin, is accused of stabbing her multiple times. Authorities report that Soncin, a 52-year-old entrepreneur, allegedly assaulted the 29-year-old model on Tuesday, inflicting 24 stab wounds to various parts of her body, including the neck, back, chest, and limbs. The incident reportedly took place on the terrace of her residence in Milan’s Gorla district.

Milan prosecutor Alessia Menegazzo has formally charged Soncin with aggravated murder. Reports indicate that Soncin had a history of abusive behavior toward Genini, including stalking. After allegedly attacking her, Soncin reportedly attempted to take his own life by inflicting stab wounds on his own throat. He is currently hospitalized in serious condition, although his prognosis is positive.

The circumstances surrounding the assault suggest a chilling premeditation. It is alleged that Soncin, who had only been dating Genini for a few months, entered her home under the guise of a delivery person. He purportedly utilized a duplicate set of keys made without Genini’s knowledge to gain access.

Neighbors alerted police around 10 p.m. local time after hearing Genini’s cries for help. The couple had reportedly been living together, but their relationship had been fraught with tension, and Genini had expressed intentions to leave him. This contention was corroborated by Genini’s ex-boyfriend, who emphasized the deteriorating nature of their relationship.

The charges against Soncin reflect a disturbing narrative of emotional turmoil and escalating violence within the relationship. Legal representatives for Soncin indicated that their client is currently unstable and has not fully comprehended the gravity of his actions.

In the aftermath of the incident, authorities seized approximately 15 weapons, including knives and firearms, from Soncin’s residence in Cervia, located around 200 miles southeast of Milan. These findings raise additional concerns regarding Soncin’s possible intentions and his history of threatening behavior, which Genini never formally reported despite the escalating nature of his actions.

This tragic case highlights the critical issue of domestic violence and the often-complex dynamics involved in relationships characterized by abuse. While the investigation continues, it serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for awareness and intervention in situations of emotional and physical violence.
