Man confesses to recording women undressing and showering in homes across Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

A Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to manufacturing child sexual abuse material and invasion of privacy following disturbing allegations involving the filming of a 15-year-old girl and other women at his rental properties on the Jersey Shore. The case, disclosed by Ocean County prosecutors, reveals serious implications and widespread concerns about the increasing incidence of such crimes.

David Lyons, 44, from Glenside, faced the charges in a plea deal on September 29 before Judge Kimarie Rahill. Prosecutors indicated that upon his sentencing, scheduled for November 14, he could receive a six-year prison term for the sexual abuse material charge and an additional three years for invasion of privacy. These sentences are expected to be served concurrently.

The charges stem from a troubling incident that occurred in July 2023 in Beach Haven, a Jersey Shore town. During this time, a family member of Lyons reported being filmed while using an outdoor shower at his rental property. Subsequent police investigations led to the seizure of numerous electronic devices from the property, suggesting a broader pattern of illicit behavior.

Lyons was arrested shortly after the report and was initially remanded at Ocean County Jail before being released under New Jersey’s bail reform measures. This incident raised significant awareness about his activities, which authorities believe date back several years. During the investigation, police discovered that Lyons had secretly recorded multiple victims undressing at various locations, posing a substantial risk to community safety.

A thorough examination of the electronic materials revealed that footage of victims extended as far back as 2020, with evidence suggesting that Lyons had researched methods to conceal his recordings, including looking for smoke detector cameras. Authorities have confirmed that images captured included both minors and adults in compromising situations.

Additionally, Lyons is facing further allegations stemming from incidents at other properties he owns, with ongoing investigations in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In March 2025, he was arrested again on additional charges filing under similar circumstances. Law enforcement officials are working diligently to encourage potential victims to come forward while authorities continue to investigate the full scope of his activities and any potential further victims.

Concerns surrounding child safety and privacy remain paramount, highlighting the urgent need for public awareness and vigilance in preventing such acts of exploitation. The community is urged to cooperate with authorities as investigations evolve and further information comes to light.
