Penntex Construction, a prominent commercial and industrial construction firm with operations in Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley, and Mechanicsburg, has partnered with Eden Wood Realty, a privately held real estate developer headquartered in Bedminster, New Jersey, to initiate a significant industrial development at the Allentown Commerce Park. This project will be developed on the former site of Mack Trucks and is poised to transform the industrial landscape of the area.
The new facility will encompass approximately 154,000 square feet and will be constructed using precast concrete. This addition is expected to enhance the availability of industrial space for lease in the Allentown market, which has shown a growing demand for such spaces in recent years.
The design of the warehouse includes several advanced features, including a clear height of approximately 36 feet, 34 loading dock positions equipped with mechanically operated dock levelers, and integrated fire protection systems—elements that are essential for modern logistics and distribution operations.
Amy Neu, CEO of Eden Wood Realty, remarked on the significance of the project, highlighting the extensive planning and dedication that went into bringing it to fruition. Neu expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts with the City of Allentown and emphasized the project’s role in contributing to the city’s ongoing growth and development.
Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk also shared his enthusiasm for the groundbreaking event, noting that the site had long been a focal point in economic development discussions throughout his 20-plus years in the field. Tuerk expressed optimism about the opportunities the new facility will create, including potential job openings and broader economic benefits for the community.
The construction of the warehouse is projected to be completed by Spring 2027. Once finished, the facility will be available for lease, contributing further to the expanding industrial real estate market in the region.
This development signifies a pivotal moment for Allentown Commerce Park and reflects broader trends in industrial growth, as companies seek to establish operational bases within regions characterized by strategic logistical advantages. As the project unfolds, it is anticipated to provide substantial economic stimulus to the local area.
