According to Staff Inspector Ernest Ransom, the commander of the Homicide Unit, the shooting was the culmination of an ongoing dispute among local teenagers that began the previous week at the Jardel Recreation Center. On the day of the incident, the involved youths gathered again on Teesdale Street, where tensions boiled over into a brief argument. Just before 4 p.m., Mouzon emerged from a nearby residence and opened fire on Gregory and his companions, unleashing more than 40 rounds.
Gregory sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries within minutes of arrival. The shooting incident did not only affect the individuals directly involved; an 18-year-old woman, who was reportedly passing by the scene, was shot in the ankle. Police confirmed she was an innocent bystander struck by a stray bullet, and she is currently in stable condition at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital.
