A tragic incident unfolded on Sunday in Palm Harbor, Florida, where a three-year-old boy was discovered deceased in a pond after reportedly wandering away from his home. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the emergency call from the boy’s father at approximately 4:25 p.m. The family resides in the Bell Lansbrook Village apartment complex, located at 3843 Lancaster Court.

According to Chief Deputy David Danzig, the father had become alarmed after not seeing his son, identified as Kyrie Larry, for about an hour. Concern heightened as it was noted that Kyrie was autistic and non-verbal, which likely contributed to the family’s worries about his whereabouts. The father suspected that his son had wandered off alone.

Law enforcement officials quickly initiated a search, employing a combination of ground teams, canine units, and aerial support from helicopter units. In an effort to trace Kyrie’s movements, investigators obtained footage from two nearby doorbell cameras. This footage revealed Kyrie walking out of his residence and heading toward a pond located approximately three buildings away.

As the search efforts intensified, a dive team was dispatched to the scene to conduct a thorough examination of the pond. Tragically, the team located Kyrie’s body in the water. Preliminary investigations suggest that drowning may be the cause of death, although this will be officially confirmed by the medical examiner’s office.

Danzig noted that the boy’s parents, both of whom are hearing impaired, were engaged in watching television at the time and believed Kyrie was playing with his brother when he inadvertently wandered off. This incident is being described by investigators as a tragic accident, reflecting the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the boy’s departure from the home.
