The University of Delaware has officially appointed Laura A. Carlson as its new president, effective January 1, 2024. Carlson, who had been serving in the role of interim president since July, previously held the position of provost at the university. Carlson joined the University of Delaware in 2022, bringing with her over 25 years of experience from the University of Notre Dame. Instead, a consultant was engaged to help determine the essential qualities needed for the role and evaluate Carlson’s fit.
