Suspect Arrested in Shooting of Georgia Police Captain

A man accused of shooting a police captain in Georgia has been apprehended, according to law enforcement officials. Timothy Ramsey, 26, was taken into custody on Saturday evening after a manhunt was launched following an incident that occurred late Friday night.

The shooting involved McCaysville Police Captain Brantley Worley, who responded to a report concerning a suspicious person. Upon arrival, Worley was shot in the head by Ramsey, who subsequently fled the scene. The incident took place around 11 p.m. in McCaysville, approximately 85 miles north of Atlanta, close to the Tennessee border. Authorities confirmed that Ramsey was arrested around 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) expressed gratitude to all law enforcement agencies that contributed to the swift capture of Ramsey, acknowledging the community’s support throughout the process.
