Shipley Donuts partners with South Dallas nonprofit to open new store.

In a significant development for the South Dallas area, the SouthFair Community Development Corporation has announced its partnership with Shipley Donuts to open a new franchise location. This anticipated shop will not only serve as a local eatery but will also play a vital role in supporting community growth. Located at 2807 Al Lipscomb Way, the new franchise is expected to commence operations by the end of 2026, as part of the expanding Malcolm’s Point retail development.

Annie Evans, the Chief Executive Officer of SouthFair, will oversee this initiative as both the landlord and tenant of the forthcoming shop. This marks a historic milestone, as she becomes the first nonprofit franchisee for Shipley Donuts. The collaboration represents a layered approach to community development, aiming to enhance local economic opportunities within the area.

Shipley Donuts, a renowned brand established in Houston in 1936, has grown to encompass over 390 locations across the United States. The franchise is celebrated for its diverse offerings, including hot glazed doughnuts, handmade kolaches, and a variety of filled, iced, and cake doughnuts. Flynn Dekker, the CEO of Shipley Donuts, articulated the company’s core belief that exceptional products have the power to unite communities. He emphasized that this partnership is aligned with Shipley’s nearly 90-year commitment to investing in people and fostering community growth.

As part of its mission, the SouthDallas franchise will allocate a portion of its revenue to support local programs and economic initiatives. This strategic decision underscores the significant role that businesses can play in enhancing community welfare. The partnership with SouthFair aims to empower residents and foster a culture of reinvestment in local opportunities.

Under Evans’s leadership, SouthFair has been a driving force in promoting revitalization efforts in South Dallas for over three decades. The long-standing commitment to community service highlights not only the organization’s capacity to enact change but also demonstrates the power of collaborations aimed at unlocking economic potential.

This franchise agreement with Shipley Donuts is seen as a remarkable opportunity for community engagement, providing a platform for residents to actively participate in their local economic landscape. By facilitating this partnership, both organizations are poised to make a meaningful impact on the future of South Dallas, which is undergoing a transformation aimed at creating sustainable growth and opportunities for all residents.
