Bryony Winn has been appointed as the new CEO of Bayada Home Health Care.
Bayada Home Health Care, one of the foremost providers of home health services in the United States, has announced the appointment of Bryony Winn as its next CEO, effective March 2. This marks a significant leadership transition for the Moorestown-based nonprofit, which was established in 1975 by visionary entrepreneur J. Mark Baiada. Notably, Winn will become the first external CEO in the organization’s history, stepping into this role following the tenure of David Baiada, the founder’s son, who has led the company for the past eight years.
Under David Baiada’s stewardship, the organization underwent a significant transformation, becoming a nonprofit entity in 2019. The shift aimed to enhance the company’s mission of delivering quality health care while maintaining a focus on community impact and sustainability. Bryony Winn brings a wealth of experience to her new position, having previously served as president of Caralon, a healthcare subsidiary of insurance giant Elevance. In this role, she oversaw a range of services, including prior authorizations for other health plans. Winn’s resume also includes positions at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina and consultancy work at McKinsey & Company, highlighting her robust background in healthcare management.
Winn has expressed her enthusiasm for joining Bayada, emphasizing the organization’s profound impact on health and well-being internationally. She views this opportunity as a pivotal moment in her career and is eager to drive the nonprofit’s mission forward. Until Winn officially assumes the position, David Baiada will continue to serve as CEO and will transition to a role on the organization’s board of directors where he will provide advisory support to his successor.
Financially, Bayada reported approximately billion in annual revenue last year. The organization not only specializes in traditional home healthcare but also offers private-duty nursing and hospice care services. Despite recent challenges, including the layoff of about 10% of staff at its Pennsauken offices, where administrative functions are centralized, Bayada continues to employ over 30,000 dedicated professionals across various services.
As Bayada embarks on this new chapter in its leadership, it aims to strengthen its position in the healthcare sector and continue its commitment to improving patient care and outcomes. The transition to Bryony Winn at the helm is anticipated to bring fresh perspectives and strategic direction for the organization as it navigates the evolving landscape of healthcare services.
